this is a question mainly for you IT guys, but anyone can answer if you know how to solve this

is there a way to allow a windows service to access a virtual (mapped) drive?

I haven't programmed windows services myself (just regular win32/64 apps) so can't answer from experience. but these links seem to indicate you can't and probably shouldn't (the ms link)
