Who has the most miles on there 3rd gen,and will the 3rd gens have the legendary reliability?

Just rolled 30k on my 18 DCSB 4x4 6MT

 

Seems like the Atkinson mode puts less strain on the engine. Why would reduce engine life?

I didnt perform routine maintenance on my old 07 Tacoma and it went to 200K miles with issues.

I mean I didn’t change spark plugs, belts, or anything. I changed the air filter one time in the 10 years that I owned it. I changed the oil once a year, and to be honest I might have gone a year without changing the oil.

That’s the true testament of Toyota engineering.

 

Give your crystal ball a polish. Atkinson cycle is just a method of variable valve timing, which the 2nd Gen has as well.
