Looking to become a Tacoma owner SOON!

Hi everyone, first post here and I will be spending a long time perusing the 2nd gen forums.

I am currently looking for a '05-15 TRD Offroad V6 manual trans Access cab 4WD long bed in Gray, green, or brown, and I am having a heck of a time! But I know I will prevail, I have found several at dealers (including a TX edition!) but they always seem to sell them out from under me.

I admin several 4Runner forums, and run a business parting 3rd/4th gen 4Runners out, but this is my first foray into legit owning a Toyota! Looking forward to the knowledge base these forums provide

Suggest narrowing to a 12+ and considering other colors

 

The options I want were only available

2005-2015. You can't get a long bed manual trans with the elocker in 2016+ models.

And since I will be paying a fat chunk of money, I want to get the color I want, not just whatever is available. I have had access to Silver trucks, but I just don't like they way they look. Too....blah. If that makes sense.

 

When I suggested 12+ I meant in the 2nd gen family you wanted. So '12-'15. '12 was the year the front end got overhauled. '13 was the last year with all the prewiring for various accessories included, allowing easy OE upgrades for other items of interest. So it's kind of a fav for me.

Don't know of any 2nd gen brown or gray (unless you include dark shades of grays) and only a couple of greens in the earlier 2nd gens. I will admit I don't know all the colors that were available in what years, so there may be more years or shades.

Don't get too spun over Texas Editions, that was just dealer add on trinkets.

Magnetic gray metallic was available 2009-2015 (and still is actually) Pyrite Mica was also available 2009-2015 and Timberland Mica was available 2009-2011. All colors I am interested in.

I prefer the 2012 front end and interior updates for sure, but for the right price I would take a 2009-2011.

When you say prewired....for things like what exactly? I am super new to all this. I was considering a sport edition too (no elocker) but I wasn't sure it if was prewired for the Elocker.

TX editions are cool, but I don't seek them out specifically. But they had a lot of the same options as a TRD Pro, but were available with a manual transmission.

 

Fog lights, rear camera, multifunction interior rear view mirror, cruise control, intermittent wipers, maybe more.

Kinda 'common' things that were optional on lower trim packages.

Don't know about the locker, but it seems a mixed bag if folks even really care about it. Some never use it, some prefer an aftermarket bit. I don't have 4wd, I don't even have 6 lugnuts, so I don't pay much attention to that part

Yea the TRD Offroad pretty much has all that stuff anyways so I am not too concerned about making sure its a 12 or 13. Alot of the 14-15 have the fancy stereos too and frankly I don't care about that all that much.

I'd like to have the elocker there if I ever want to use it, and I am a "stock is best" sort of guy. Not going to mod my truck too much, since I won't be hadcore offroading it anyways. I have a wheeler for that

Welcome to TW... I was lucky to find a 2014 Spruce Mica, very rare. It was an option from 2012-14.

Well looks like I found what I was looking for! From a forum member no less! Very nice 2012 TRD offroad ACLB manual trans. Complete with sweet canopy!

I will post pics as soon as I have it in my possession. Doing some paperwork this weekend
