I'm always very careful not to touch the glass part of HID bulbs when installing them, so if I don't touch the bulb they do not require cleaning, is this correct?

I assume that people who handle and package Morimoto/etc bulbs are wearing sterile gloves while doing so, so there should not be any oils on the bulbs when being packaged. Thoughts?

Never seen the factory but I assume the packaging is either automated or if by hand they wear latex gloves. Unless I accidentally touched the bulb with bare fingers I would never clean or do anything else to the bulb other than just install it. If I did accidentally touch it I’d use a little alcohol to clean it and then use an air hose to blow off any minuscule pieces of lint. Bottom line use latex gloves and just install it.

that's what I'm thinking too. I never touch the glass when installing, so I don't see why I would need to wipe it down first before install.
