Im actually looking at the rock island armory, they have some entry level ones in the $500-650 range.
But nothing will be the same as my grandfather's colt 1911, serial # from 1914.
Ask me Sunday I'll send pics!

    A thing or two...
Look at the 'off brands' to save some money. A Rock Island Armory was my first 1911. It was about the same price as a new Glock (around $500). I never had any issues with it, and I put a lot of rounds through it shooting USPSA matches. I've since sold it to a buddy of mine, and I now have a S&W E-series Tactical 1911 and a Springfield EMP. They're better fit and finish than the RIA, but it was still a great first, beater 1911.

I carried the same when I was out hunting in NM.

Don't quote me on this, but I don't believe the MCX at Quantico does the Glock blue label. I can check the next time I'm at work if you want.

Divorce sucks but losing half your guns sucks even more. Hopefully it wasn’t too hard on her.

Took the truck in for the 2 year service and for the last 2 months has been shifting like utter shit. Worst than the normal and hunting for gears. Well the dealer cant replicate it so no new ecu update. Fml

Well I just ordered my suspension..... 5100's all the way around and 887's up front. Ebay is having a 15% off sale using popupsavings if anyone interested. With the 15% off coupon, I got the 4 shocks and coils for $440 and free shipping. Now just need to get an AAL for the back. Seriously considered the 6112/5160 combo with the 15% off and I may kick myself in the ass later for not, but trying to be cheap right now. It's weird, I have no issues spending money on my wife/family, but hate spending money on myself. I need me as a spouse or family member

@EatSleepTacos any suggestions on what else I need? I am waiting for the progressive 3 leaf pack to get back in stock at headstrong. But anything else that you recommend?

Under warranty? The dealer should have zero issues doing a TSB update for you. Maybe you should try another dealer?

I would be calling BS and going elsewhere. I take mine to Culpeper, and they did the TSB update for me based on my request without having to "replicate" anything. I don't get it...it's not like it really costs them anything but time to run what amounts to a software update.

I have wind noise too, but it isn't terrible so I basically ignore it.

Well you may want to do the ECGS bushing as well. I’ve done a few now and it’ll take an extra hour or so. Or you can wait and see if you have vibes, and go from there.
