The hose should route fine with either a straight or elbow fitting. Fine tuning can come later. Flow restrictions shouldn't be an issue.

I went solid, and I'm never looking back. Make sure if you're close to a rebuild interval (~90k), you should bite the bullet and rebuild it or send it off.

    Awesome.

I’m only at 25k on the SC. Solid advice though.

Here was my fix. Cheap with a scrap sheet of metal. Had to get 2 bolts, 4 washers, and 2 nuts. Works prefect for my application :)

Looks good! Did you extent the harness for the pump? Or were the leads long enough?

Fortunately the harness reached with maybe 1/4” to spare. I would tell you that area is about as far as I’d take it, along that horizontal sub assembly cross member thing. The other benefit for me was my resi is located on the passenger whee well wall (opposite the original install instructions) which enabled me to run the “out hose” directly to the top of the pump, and the return line facing the firewall, to receive the coolant from the inter cooler. (If that makes sense)

I have a question for the technically savvy.
Many of us use the maf's g/s x 1.18 to get approximate crank hp.
My question is....if we were able to decrease engine and or accessory parasitic and frictional losses would we see the maf g/s increase or stay roughly the same?
Obviously we would have more power generated at the wheels because of the higher efficiency but would we see it in g/s?

I am trying to figure out (without a dyno) how to see what the gains are if I remove the factory sc inlet elbow and make my own intake.

This should be an interesting discussion.

I’m no scientist but I occasionally stay at the Best Western.

Since at high load we are using power to suck the air in through too small of an orifice. Can we consider that a frictional and parasitic load?

    That is a parasitic load.

Sounds like you know what you need to do!

    :sawzall:

Have you tried to measure/estimate the internal cross-sectional area of the supercharger elbow at the smallest spot?

Roost, if you decrease parasitic losses, the maf may not necessarily increase, but the efficiency would, thus the 1.18 variable, would go up. Say 1.19 or 1.20, which would show higher dyno, seat of the pants feel.

If you increase the engine’s ability to suck or blow, then You’d see an increase in the maf reading.

Oh I have a plan. I think the CSA is around 65mm but that is not my question. My question is will a difference in maf g/s be seen if the parasitic load is decreased?
It may be felt with increased hp/tq at the wheels even if maf #'s dont change due to freeing up some of the parasitic losses.
