Uneducated in real knifes, know the names, but that's it. Looking for a utility knife for work and play. Like the size and shape of the Spyderco Native Salt series, I'm a plumber by trade, and deal with water and wet things here in Florida. I'll need to sharpen this knife, obviously, looking at the plain blade option, regular wet stone action? Be nice, I don't know. Looking for any recommendations for some obvious knife enthusiasts, what would you suggest? Thanks in advance.

Can’t go wrong with Spyderco. They make some great knives. As for sharpening, are you good at using a wet stone? If not, or if you just want to make your life a lot easier, check out the Spyderco Sharpmaker. I am terrible at sharpening knives, and this thing makes it a breeze. Worth every penny in my opinion.

I think the Benchmade Infidel is the coolest knife I own, but I think it's too nice to use as a everyday knife...just sits in a drawer. The cheap OTF Lightning has been such a great knife, I bought another one when they came out with a double edge one.

I've been wanting one of these most bad, but I know I'd never use it either, plus I don't have a good track record with side opening auto knives. It really sucks to reach into your pocket and slice a finger to the bone cause the damn blade came open. But damn this knife looks CooL!

    Plumber here also:fistbump:
I carry a Leatherman OHT daily. Doesn’t matter if it’s a wedding, funeral, rodeo, etc, never leaves my side. I had local saddle shop make me a custom sheath for it. It’ll last longer than me. As far as “utility” knives I’d suggest shopping KOA, Knives Of Alaska. See what they have that may meet your needs. I have 4 of theirs, D2 tool steel. Love them.

I don't own that one (I'll never buy a Microtech again) but I do have some push button autos. I've never had one fire in my pocket or when I didn't want it to in any situation. Modern autos generally don't have hair pin triggers so to speak. I would never buy an auto that is really easy to fire or would fire easily by accident, that's a bad design in my opinion.

What knife/brand is that? I'm not familiar with that one. Is it an inexpensive knife?
