Double check that the blade didnt get jammed into one side of that cubby in the middle. If I recall, mine was a bitch to get out.

 

No dice. Box and manual were clearly labeled “blade not included”. Womp womp.

 

I was on the fence about the HF welders after my flux core chicago electric one exploded into pieces (the gun came apart after one project) and they couldn't replace it or give me the parts because it was a third party company. Played the leap frog on hold game over the phone trying to get parts and I just gave up. Let me know if it works good for you. I'll be looking to add a welder to my garage by summer.

 

Agreed- about the Pittsburgh one. I do use a 4x4 block ontop most of the time though. Just makes it easier to use, don't have to jack up as much, and makes me feel like I'm protecting the metal on both the jack and the truck. Helps spread the pressure from the jack.

 

Just curious- why the Titanium vs the Vulcan? Price? Also why that one and more advanced one? Price?

I only have a Lincoln AC-225 tombstone stick welder and my welds look like shit. I should just keep practicing but I want pretty welds fast. Everything I read says learn stick first but...

 

Not for all the Daytona jacks. Law suit was only for their top of the line yellow Daytona jack. Surprisingly SO didn't win though.

 

For $60 more you could have bought a Hobart 140 which is basically a Miller.

 

Pretty much price. The comparable Vulcan was a few hundred more.

Thanks joe, I’m very happy with it. First thing I’ve welded with it and easily the best welding I’ve ever done. It’s a bamf shock relocation bracket.

It’s true.

If you can stick weld, you can use anything.

If you learn on a MIG, you’re usually pretty shitty with everything else.

 

I wish. This is just to run 12” king smoothies on someone else’s truck. Learning on his before I do mine next year sometime.

 

Noob question: How do you guide your cuts?
Do you free hand it or are there runners that go in the channels at each end?

Chainsaw sharpener. Sharpen 2 chains and it's paid for. It's wanky with a bike grip to hold the chain tight but it works and does a good job. There is not a week that I don't have to cut something and I heat with wood so it's had a workout.

 

Free hand.

 

Swag sells a miter gauge similar to what you’d use on a table saw that fits those channels. They specifically made it that way for that use
