Im on the hunt for a used 3rd gen cap. But, that isnt what this post is about......

I know 2nd gen caps curl down over the bed rails...

I know 3rd gen does.. BUT, how far?

My biggest thing, I need to be able to use an outboard mount for the bikes.

No, roof is not really an option. Neither is hitch mount.

So.. my question, how far down does the cap go over the bedside? How much of the "lip" would I be removing to be even with the bedrail?

I Understand, it may be different between MFRs.
