Region and intended use tend to dictate people's rear setups - no one building a prerunner is going to stay mid travel (a real desert pre-runner), but a lot of guys want long travel in the front and stay spring over in the rear. They're more interested in trail riding or overlanding usually. 2" wheel spacers get the job done, but 1.25" or 1.5" work just as well if you're only going 2 over in front. You'll have a better turning radius and less understeer the narrower the rear stays.

I have +3.5 front, mid travel spring over for the rear and +2 spacers on the back. Definitely would recommend at least a mid travel SUA, but preferably a long travel SUA

With a 3.5 kit you will notice any mid travel rear lacking whether its SUA or SOA especially. If you can fab and have your own tools I would plan somewhere around 3-4k on the rear. If you need someone to do it, then expect somewhere around 7-8k. I know considering that much just for the rear is a hard pill to swallow...but it sucks burning up half the rear in funds on a band aid if you want to do more than the casual overlander.

I came from the TC sua mid travel kit and it was about half as capable as my 3.5 at best. It took me a minute to accept these numbers as well before I was able to pull the trigger. TC can be a little misleading in their ad by advertising a 2+ and a 3.5+ kit with their mid travel sua.

Not a bad call if you are an east coast guy and don't want to be too wide. If you are west coast...I would reconsider. I almost went +2 although I always have loved the looked of glass...yea that was a bullet dodged by manning up to the 3.5.

Just purchased a Camburg +3.5 kit and ended up getting McNeil glass fenders for the front.

I like how you have the chainsaw ready and waiting just in case there's a need lol...

Hack it up with a cutoff wheel and pull it out like they do with the rangers

+2 front, 35’s. Sua mid travel rear with 1.5” spacer and deciding to cage it. How do I keep the steel fenders? Glass won’t work well with the right roads I take, but I have plenty of tree wrinkles in metal that don’t bother me. Possible to just cut high and add a flare for coverage?

You could do something like this (might have to cut less w/ the 3rd gen being one more inch higher from the frame)

Couldn’t see how he did it from the pics; how do you tub the rear wheel well? Is it possible to cut the fender like the rangers and pull it out? wheel spacers in the rear so it single tracks in the snow, but would be willing to give them up to tuck in. Running the Kendo 35x10.5 which I like for being narrower and they are holding up well so far.

35s, flatbed, rhino liner paint, SOS front bumper, JD Fab lca pivot, JD Fab inner fenders and some other stuff.
Are your wheels 16s or 17s? I've been looking for a taller but slightly skinnier tire for a 16" wheel.
