Hey man! Like stated before, I would highly recommend in a "fast" lens. Something like a 50mm F1.8 or similar. That way you get that nice shallow depth of field and nice creamy bokeh ;)

That'll be my next purchase at this point. Searching for an affordable lens.

I've noticed. I only got my camera 4 days ago and I can't out it down. Lol. Hell, I'm actually out of town for work right now and I brought it with me. I just need to go buy a macro lens. The vr18-55 and 55-200 seem to be pretty good lenses though for now.

I did product photography for 15 years and never once touched a strobe. Always used static soft boxes - so you can see what the shot will look like before you take it, instead of having to shoot a bunch of shots just to get the lighting right (leading to higher productivity).
Also, for most product shots (studio stills), depth of focus is a really good thing, so long exposures are your friend, and you don't need really bright lights. Just my 2c...

I use a Godox LST60 Light Tent for product photography.
    https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1558599-REG/godox_lst60_power_60w_cri.html

I use several lenses. I shoot a lot of products at the client's location and I don't always have an ideal area to set up in; sometimes it gets pretty cramped. I prefer using my macro lens if I have the room, but sometimes I just have to go with whatever lens will work in a given situation.

I like a good depth-of-field so I usually shoot at the f/22–f/32 end of the lens rather than the f/1.4–f/1.8 end. Using small apertures makes for longer shutter times so I usually mount my camera on a tripod and use my remote control to activate the shutter. Once you get set up and start shooting, it goes quickly.
