Since I de-badged and de-stickered the red and black vinyl “TRD 4x4 SPORT” bedside, I took a step back to appreciate the slick look. Then I decided to give @CBoy808 a ring. Had him mock these up for me to replace the originals I just took off except without the SPORT and with some vintage flair. They will be matte black. Can’t wait!

Did the threads match? That project is about 3 models down my list along with cement grey paint over all interior gunmetal.

 

Runnin4tacos kit. I had to trim the plastic off the grill and the lights to fit. Thats the best look in my opinion.

 

Mine did the same thing call Brian he troubleshot over phone and turns out had a ground wire installed that shouldn’t have been

 

Had a remote start installed. Negotiated it when I got the truck from the dealer. They had a mobile install company come out the house yesterday and install it. First remote start I’ve ever had on a manual.kinda tricky but it works well so far.

 

removed the carbon filter from the airbox....b/c I was bored....

put on a aluminum oil Cap....ebay...happy with it

Ok, so final post on de-chroming interior. The flat black enamel set up nicely, on the lower bumper AND on the inner chrome.
Just for fun and experimenting, I masked, primed and painted the mirror knob and 4x4 knob. Tricky and I didnt dona great job, but good enough until I can pop panels for these two and remove for a more thorough job.
Up next: 5100s and 884s. Gotta get that 1.5” going.

 

I didn't take any pictures when I was doing the install, but as I recall the collar is attached to the boot with a zip tie. Just cut the stock one and add a new one lower on the shaft. I think someone did a write up on here somewhere.

 

Yeah, screwed right on. Easiest mod that I've ever done and one of the most useful.
