just bought a 2019 tacoma 4 cylinder engine. Was super excited about getting it that i looked passed it not having headlights that turn off automatically
    Or back seats

Anyone know if this is a later option
And where i can get back seats

Dont get me wrong i love my truck. Wouldnt change a thing. Just having the option later on would be nice
This is my first truck ever

The dealer you bought it from probably has a truck with a v6 and backseats.

So it sounds like you’ve got an SR with the utility package ... I don’t believe the have the auto headlight feature

Welcome to TW, interesting first post... I “think” your headlights will turn off automatically. They should be what we call “asshole” lights. Meaning when you turn off your truck and walk away in a parking lot some kind soul will say “hey asshole your lights are on”. They should turn themselves off a min or two
Later. Try it out at home and make sure it works on your truck though.

Backseats? I had no idea you could buy a Tacoma that didn’t include seats? How does that work? What’s back there instead? I remember back 40 years ago seats were an option on Jeeps, but it’s 2019 how did you get no seats? I guess if there’s a spot for them I’d find a junkyard and unbolt them and bolt them in.

Right now it just had the two storage boxes on the back seat area, the dealer gave me some bullshit of how he would get them ordered for me and when i signed the papers he seemed to not recall saying that

    You bought a utility package.

Lots of folks with access cabs would like to have your rear trim and swap their seats/trim

Post in your regional forum with a want to swap and maybe you'll get some hits.

Next purchase you make I suggest you know what you are buying before you sign anything.

Learning an expensive lesson... hopefully others will gain knowledge from your experience and not repeat the same issues. Buying a vehicle requires doing a lot of homework, and ensuring your getting what you are paying for. Read every document given to you for signature... I’m betting there was a form that listed all pending work and/or accessories to be installed by the dealership (and it was blank), that is where you could have listed the order/install of back seats. Never ever “trust” a dealership salesperson, they are not your advocate.

Not sure I would say missing back seats a minor thing, but at least you have a positive attitude about it. Are you sure you got a good deal on it, I mean you’re claiming the dealer lied about back seats, what else did they lie about?

Its just a work truck for me. Im gonna have tools back there, i was just curious about seats for possible resell value one day. And i think it was a decent deal 24.5k with tags title and tax. Truck only had 3 miles on it

I wouldn't worry about resale value. I recall a few members were trying to find someone to swap parts with because they wanted the utility package. You may have a pot of gold there you just don't know it yet. Say in 4 or 5 years Toyota quits offering the Utility package, your truck may become highly valuable. If not, then don't sweat it, you can convert it, but I don't think it would be cost effective. By the time you paid for all the parts it probably wouldn't get you the return you needed. Enjoy the truck as it is.
