Road trip up Cali coast. Any good places to stop and off-road??

Doing a trip from San Diego to Santa Cruz. I’m surfing along the coast, but I want to stop and do some roading along the way. Obviously I’m going to hit the pismo dunes, but I was wondering if you guys had any other suggestions of sick off road spots. Thanks for the help!

 

Plasket Ridge Road. You can do it in a Prius, but it's an amazing view

 

Hungry Valley in the Gorman area has miles of dirt roads, you might end up having to head through that area on the 5, due to PCH closures. We got turned around just south of Big Sur, and had to go allllllll the way back around through Bakersfield and some random 2 lane up and over the mountains to get through to Santa Cruz. Just a heads up!
