    Hi all,
Purchased an 18 trd off road last month... when updating the quick response messages in the messaging page, everything seems to work fine but when i restart the car, it reverts back to the default quick replies.

Also, this morning when i started the truck to go to work, my whole media center froze. Had to restart the truck to regain any use. The truck currently has 800 miles only...little bit frustrating.

Are these known issues? Is there a software update i did not get?

    Thanks in advance

The Entune messaging app has only worked intermittently for me. It was frustrating as the Entune app in general locks out the microphone button on my phone's keyboard.

The easy work around for me (on Android at least) that took way too long to discover was to just use the verbal initiation. Saying Okay Google, launches the Assistant. From there, I have had no issues sending voice texts back when needed. This has proved to be much less distracting than even trying to scroll left and right to get to the right quick message.

Sorry that this isn't the real answer that you were looking for.

I wish this would work for me, I thought it was entune but I guess it must be my phone (HTC 10). Whenever I say OK Google the phone hears and prompts for my instructions but it's like the mic isn't working and cant hear me after.

That's weird. I have a Pixel XL. Launching the Assistant has worked flawlessly for me even when listening to loud music and with a lot of road or wind noise. I was surprised. That was only way that I could get the mic to work for texts. This has worked for me even with Entune firmware updates. About four of them since I got the Taco in September?

The Entune app is a bit of a monster. There was times that I tried to force it to stop and it automatically re-engages immediately as long as BT is on.

The only thing that you might try is hitting the mic button on the phone? That would be opposite of me, but who knows? Honestly, I do not know if the Assistant is listening over the Taco or the phone's mic.

Life is simpler with all these convenience features, right!?

Tonered, I'm having the same issue described by sadmrhappy whenwtrying to sendsa message otherothan one of the predefined quick replies when using a Pixel 3xl. Is the solution you mention only work when your input is on Bluetooth or does it work on all sources? I'm finding the only way to get Google Assistant to hear me is by switching from radio/Sirius to Bluetooth. Coming from an iPhone, I just needed to press the phone button on the steering wheel and no matter what I was listening to, Siri would open up.
