What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Did the constant 12v power outlet and hyper blink led mods.


Oh and by the way I cut these mud flaps out for a buddy when I cut out mine. He said he's going flapless, so if you're interested in them PM me. There made out of 4mm semi truck flaps (textured on one side smooth on the tire side). No hardware and holes have not been cut.

 

What hyper blink led mod, any links?

 

Some models have a 12 pin flasher, mine only had the 7 pin. Same process though. Here is a video. If you have the 7 pin flasher they are readily available at auto parts stores and say they are LED compatible.

I figured if this mod didn't work I would go buy one, but it worked great. (12 pin flasher is only available from Toyota or a junkyard from what I could find.)

Wired up my fog lights on my arb this morning

 

Fixed up a rigid grille with a fresh coating and new surround.

I fired up the truck today and found that my right turn blinker hyperflashes. No new bulbs or any reason it should be doing that. My DRL on that same side is weaker too. Is this just a fuse issue?

 

Check front and back signal lights, one is probably burnt out.

 

Hyperflash is meant to warn you about a burnt-out bulb... Have you checked that all of your turn signals work? Does it only hyperflash when using a certain direction?

I'll feel like a moron if that's what it is. The back signal works but I never looked at the front, that's probably it then.

 

Also, FYI, if you step on the brakes and your turn indicator comes on solid, the brake light on that side is out. I found that out recently from driving around without my driver side tail light while I was installing my fiberglass bedsides.

 

This is the most front steel bumpers I've seen on any page.

 

Took the reciprocating saw to the grill and mounted a second hand smittybilt grill (changed all chrome bolts to black) to “hide” my fog lamps/aux lighting after the original 32”lightbar in the lower bumper went missing. Ripped the bumper off so I went with the arb.

This guy has 1.2 million miles on his 4cyl 2wd tacoma. You might look around for one of those.

 

It looks like they sent it through a Vibro deburr (rock tumbler) before they anodized it. That's pretty common with aluminium. Just my 0.02 because I do not have one, but I would love one.
