Drive back roads and a lot of deer in my area, don't want deer horns puncturing my oil pan or anything else smashing my undercarriage.

I've heard TRD makes a skid plate and Pelfreybilt, wondering if there are other vendors out there TW recommends.

The OEM one feels pretty light.

the answer to your question title would be The Used Market here on TW....

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/3rd-gen-tacoma-parts-marketplace-2016.202/

I have a 2nd gen not 3rd so I under stand the picking is different, but i have managed so far all off TW classifieds used... Steel Skids, Steel Rear bumper, Aluminum Front bumper and a set of 255 km2s for a fraction on the price with 10k miles... some call me cheap but I see it as an opportunistic outlook.

keep and eye on craigslist and eBay, one mans trash another mans treasure

and none of the factory options neither toyota nor trd or whatever, will compare with steel skids...

RCI has scratch and dent skids where they messed up the production and sell them for cheaper. I got mine shipped for $200.

2016 Tacoma Sport, just getting started in on it.
How is you skid plate holding up? I have the same on on my truck and the powder coat is flaking off pretty badly.

It's about 2 years old. Hasn't been subjected to too much punishment. First powder coated skid plate I've had, just trying to sort out if this is normal.
