I know theres a bunch of posts about tint but im just deciding on either going with 20% or 35% tint on my windows. It looked like this when i bought the truck(must be 5%)
IMG_2860.jpg but ripped it off except for the xtracab windows after a few months because i wasnt able to see at night very well. i want to know if 20% will give me problems at night like limo because i feel like 35 might be too light and not be worth the $
No tint on the sides is too much of a fishbowl
Show me some pics of the tint on your trucks
    Thanks

Sub’d. I’m in the market too, currently thinking 35% as I personally don’t want it too dark, but curious to see what others think.

20% is not that dark. I have 15 percent on my car and find myself occasionally rolling down a window at night but I don't have to in the truck.

I have 35% on my truck. I’d go darker if you don’t want people to see inside your truck. I’m thinking of going down to 20 soon.

Depends on alot of factors man.
Any given shade up front will be darker or lighter depending on the back windows.
20% all around wont be as dark as 20 in front and limo in back. Canopy makes it darker to.
20% and you will probably still have to roll your windows down at night.
    35% is a pretty solid choice .

Something else u can try they make static cling tint, grab a roll of 20% slap it on. So what if ur cuts look like poo. Drive it for a week and see how u like it.
Then u can peel it off and get them pro tinted with a educated choice.
It will cost ya an extra $15 and 30 min

It would be smart to play it safe with 35% and not have to worry about visibility or being pulled over for it but i like the looks of 20. Wish there was something in between

You got a good looking truck man. Things badass. 35 looks nice but i do like the privacy of 20. 5% was nice while it lasted lol but too dark for me

Thanks @dumontrider! Tint looks good. i think if i went 20% on front two, i would do 35% over the factory on the rear. Hopefully that would leave me with a little more visibility than 20 over rear factory. when turning left or right do the front two windows ever bother you at all with seeing?

Every once in a while on a dark corner I have to check for pedestrians very, VERY thoroughly. But 85% of the time it's not even on my mind.

35% would be my max and even then it still hard to see while backing up at night. On my Lexus I had 0% all the way around for awhile but then made my two front windows 50%, mainly to see better at night, beside being the legal limit for front windows. It also harder to see through the tint when it’s raining too. I kept everything else 0% on the Lexus because I have a backup camera that I use to backup. If it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t be able to see well at night while backing up.

I did 35% all around on my gf 18 Civic hatch and it works for us. Again the backup camera helps while backing up at night.

Where are you located OP? I'd look into laws regarding tint. When I was in LA I think you could only tint a portion of the windshield, Diver and Pass can't be less than 30% but back and sides can be any %. Don't quote me though. Funny thing I never had a problem with my tint and it was never tested until I moved to Honolulu where they require yearly safety check and the guy doing it used a device to verify the light transmission.

5% on the sides and a 35% on the windshield.... before the windshield i would roll down my windows occasionally if the streets were dark, or if i was making a turn... now i find myself not driving after sunset lol... works great for desert runs and offroading in the summer!...

    20% you'll be fine.

I believe in CA 50% is legal for the front. However a lot of people do 35% without problems. If the LE wants to be a dick, or you give him reason to be, and or he is a fish he might write you up for it.
