    That's my understanding, yes.

Note how neither of those has the hex portion on top, which matches what is on Denso's own website. Also, my fake one had slotted mounting holes and the actual one did not.

Solid point..idk, mine have the hex head and I dont have any issues?:confused:

I would still buy it..if it shows up without the correct part number engraved return it. he has sold 45 of them, hard to believe he has gone this long without being caught if they are fakes. But i guess its always possible.

okay so the thing thats worrying me now is that the one thats on my truck has a hex portion on top but the denso replacement doesn't have that.

your mechanic claims the sensor needs to be replaced but whats the actual code?
regular run of the mill mechanics always assume emission related codes are either a gas cap, 02 sensor, or charcoal canister (only after they make you throw a bunch of money at it).

Just look to see if they accept returns. If it works and your CL doesn't trigger then who cares. You just saved 50 bucks and now you can buy yourself a "fake" wagyu steak.

Funny enough, my fake one had the part number on it, and the real one didn't. They're good at making convincing fakes. I fell for it too.

Saving $50 to then buy the real one and doing the job over just costs you more.

He told me it needed replacing and I told him I'd do it in the new year. I called a few days later to get the engine light code but he didn't have it. he just told me it was the upstream sensor and that I shouldn't buy Bosch if I was gonna do the work myself.

Yeah i just checked the denso website - and all the ad's i could find with the hex shaped head. None of them come with factory packaging. all the ones with the rounded shape do. I side with you now, its way to consistent to be a legitimate part. Just a bunch of re-cycled stock photos between vendors. I change my mind, i bet it is a fake.

But, that doesn't mean it wont work! i have a Bosch 02 sensor on my 97 and its been fine for me. and fakes on my 04.. but....cant beat OEM if you can afford it

Unless you buy it directly from Amazon warehouse, their 3rd party seller can sell knock off too. But I agree, Amazon is the best place. That’s where I got mine.

OEM Denso vs fakes. Denso and Rock Auto do not contain the hex nut built into the body:

Ebay O2 sensor: has hex built in.

More importantly, this is known as a LAMBDA sensor. Not LAMDA as it is misspelled on the fake Denso prop box thoughfully included. My 2 cents: not Denso.
