Ok. So my 2wd Tacoma has stock size as 195/75r14. Well I have 16” rims for it right now. And with them on they are close to rubbing the upper control arm. So I need smaller size tires. Can I run 87V on it? Or is the truck to heavy for that?. Does anyone know what size I can go? I can’t go to wide on the tire because it’ll just rub on the control arm.

Did these wheels bolt up with no issues? Ive got a 99 5 lug lowered 2" in the rear and I have the stock 14" Wheels. Trying to find another option like stock Toyota or maybe Nissan wheels.

Actually no they didn’t. They are factory 5x4.5 so the lug pattern fits. But the problem is the center hub bore is to small. Simple to fix. Go on YouTube and type in boring wheel hub. You use a metal router and run it around the inside of the hole to machine it out to fit the Toyota hubs. Took 15 mins each wheel. Or the more exspensive way is to have a machine shop bore the centers of the wheels to the size for a Tacoma

Yeah that's pretty much everything I have read. All have ran into issues with center bore. I was hoping to find some Lexus or Toyota wheels what would work just to keep it in the same family unless I found a way to get rid of Nissan center cap.

Do what I did. The Nissan writing on the cap pops off. I ordered silver decal overlays for the caps and put trd decals over top of thayb

True. Im going to have to look into that. Did you have to bore all 4? Also with the bigger wheel did you notice loss of power or loss of MPG?

Not to derail, but have you carefully inspected for frame rust? That is usually worse than body rust on these trucks, and you have serious body rust in the rockers and rear fender area.

Reason I'm asking is it would be a shame to spend on upgrades then wind up undriveable from rust.

It's not just the wheel size. It's the width and the offset. How wide are your 16" wheels and what is the offset?

215/60/16 on Hyundai Sonata 16 x 6.5 wheels, 44 offset. Bolts right up, center bore is 67.1 which is same as Tacoma hub. No rubbing. Still working on the center caps. Wheel/tire combo is about 8 lbs per wheel heavier than the stock 14s. Barely noticeable performance decrease (mine is 5 sp so if you have an automatic, ymmv) but 1-2 mpg loss...

Edit: I got my tires from Discount Tires and they said I had to get at least 93 or 94 load rating. Don't know if they were trying to upsell me or what... Single cab is probably less but 87 might be too low.

Have you factored in the speedo/odo error based on the new tire size?

You might find less MPG drop than you are thinking?

I did think of that but size difference was only about 1% so I didn't think that was a big factor.
