I got a chance to mount my ax and shovel today. I plan on mounting my hatchet and fire extinguisher in a similar fashion. It seems very sturdy and I can completely open and close the cover as well as remove it while the tools are still attached . 20190101_154201.jpg 20190101_154210.jpg 20190101_154519.jpg

I just got a plastic shovel Mount at Home Depot then I got some Velcro cable ties that's what the red part is. Then I got some heavy-duty adhesive Velcro. I was reluctant to drill through the cover at first but I like the way it turned out. I used 2 in 1/4 20 pan head stainless steel screws with Nylock nuts. I also used Fender washers. To ensure it was watertight I silicone the washers and the bolt. Whole thing probably cost me twenty bucks. I can get you some closer pictures or if I still have the packages I can send a picture of those. The holders have a rubber strap that causes that handle to self lock into the bracket. The velcro is kind of just a backup in case it pops out. I may add my first aid kit or something else. The lid seems pretty sturdy the one thing that I will have to go back and fix is I'm going to scuff up the top of the washers and screws and paint them flat black to match the cover

I like it. nice and simple. But you can buy quickfists for $10... Hell sometime i see them on Amazon for $6. Might have come out a little cheaper on the end.
