Yea annoying thing. I think it has to be like your last 5 visited threads to pop up unless you request emails. Thatd be way too much considering how active this thread is.

Got a member on Scott AFB I haven’t met yet. Got “stalked” to work today by a 3rd gen MGM dcsb. Had a TW sticker on the back window along with a Icon sticker.

I was on Scott AFB Wednesday and saw a Black 3rd gen with Bronze wheels. Must be a lot of Tacomas on that base

There is a bunch, most of which I assume aren't that hardcore into the trucks as we are. The guy that followed me into work is probably the first new person I've seen with a TW sticker in a while. Once we got on base he split in a different direction so I couldn't strike up a convo. I could have said something while waiting in line to get on base but I just assumed it was just a spiffy new 3rd gen and not a member. Didn't see the sticker till it was too late.

Edit: What brought you out this way?

My company is sub-contracted by Harris Technologies (Radios). Scott AFB has a maintenance contract with Harris. Harris doesn't like to do anything themselves so they pay us $50,000 a year to basically be on stand-by if anything ever comes up. I was over at the Communications Office doing some preventative maintenance on their servers. Replacing failed hard drives and such. I'll be back next week sometime. A few of the drives that failed I didn't have on hand and had to order them. Also we sent a server in for repair and now I have to rebuild it, so I'll finish that up next week as well.

Edit: Maybe you'll be free for lunch when I come out there next week?

Uncle Sugar likely pays them $200k for that service. Tell your bosses to start looking into the listings so they can bid on them directly.

Your absolutely right, I don't know what the exact figure is, but I do know its 6 figures. Supposedly the contract comes straight from the Pentagon. We are too small to serve the entire Air Force. We are currently bidding on St. Louis County's new contract and that would be huge for us.

I've made a few appliance deliveries to Scott AFB, lots of Tacos and Tundras all around.

Lot of Mercedes too, for some dumb reason.

Edit: TW stickers? Gonna have to see about that

I can guarantee you that there are federal government contracts for your company at Scott and the St. Louis metro area. My wife is extremely versed in this as she used to be part of the shop at Air Mobility Commmand that audited and oversaw the ones that fell under them. Some huge corporations and small family owned outfits with their hands in the jar getting theirs. Don’t sell yourselves short.

So many contracts go over for huge money because no one else bid them because they figured a huge outfit would underbid them. You could set up a business and start bidding. Hire recent veterans with intact security clearances and you can charge more because the agency that needs the work won’t have to kick down the loot to pay for new clearances. People scoff at this butI reckon when the other military and government experience types see it they’ll weigh in to the affirmative.

    Get. That. Money.

Interesting. I work for St. Louis County Transportation, hence the curiosity.

just about any weekend should work for me. I work evenings 3-11 so that should give me plenty of time to get anything done or help out where I can.
