replace the corroded pins on that connector and the valve body harness inside the transmission.

I try to see how to unlock those pins like on that picture on that female plug but i cant figured out how to release them ... i manage to remove the black part but not the pins ....

That female connector i cleaned it many times with the welding tip so i know inside must be good but not 100% sure its not broken off farther at the end ...

I check the omhs on the e5 connector on the ecu and getting readings

I also did a plan of all the wires that goes into that female plug like the s1-s2-sr-slu1 and 2 slt etc if i remember all the slu and slt no reading but my solonoid sr had some ... but its miliseconds has soon i touch it i get something but then slowy
    Goes down

I know for a fact that my male plugin had a bit of corosion but wasnt that bad has u can see in the pic but the female is kinda bad but no broken pins

Im going at the shop this after noon i pull my tran pan again last night to test my sr solonoid which i did not do the first time i was confident it was corosion issue

Also after we cleaned the female plug and did the new oil refill i erased the codes and got it for a ride and for 5 mins it was shifting in od which i believe the sr does and seems like when the oil was hot ... the check engine when back on and was not shifting no more to 5 th gear or od but all the gears 1 2 3 4 are really smooth but 5 did not go

Also when i switch selector gear from park to reverse or drive it give a hard clock when it was cold did not do it ...it all happen at the same time with the p0986 thing sooo if my solonoid is okay it
    Has to be wiring issue

Do you know if that female plug has some fuses relay or other thing that could be trip ... or its just straight to the ecm

Bacause if my solonoid is okay say
I wana know if theirs power from that
Female plug all the way to the ecm or
    Vise versa

Also all these solonoids are different reading some 11 to 15 omhs and some 5 ... but i dont know if i need to check voltage when the key is on or in park neutral drive ....

Thanks for your help really thankfull
Sorry for my english im french :)

The tranny has just 200000 km .. and truck canadien winter salt blah blah

Ppl on these forums said that
They had broken pins into connector mine is not that bad

well that welding tip cleaner probably just damaged your female pins. inside thoes female connectors is a thin bent piece of metal that makes the connection and by sticking a round piece of metal in there its probably flattened that piece of metal out.

you can leave everything connected as well and just test the solenoid wires off the ecu that way your testing your harnesses and solenoid at the same time.

    Hey thanks again

Today i tested the sr solonoid and i had 12 ohms on it and connected a 12 volts to it and was making noise the piston inside was working so that was okay ... so i put it back .

After i tackle the female plugin i manage to remove the pins ... inside the connector their was a few that had corrosion on them and shit inside of the pin itself so i clean everything and slap everything back was nothing broken or rusted

Took it for a ride it shifted for like 2 times then boom the check engine was on and no more 5 th gear shifting... i drove back to the shop plug the tester for the check engine and now i had p0986 and a new p0771 which say i have a solonoid stuck or off ....now i know my wires are good so its a solonoid problem i guest either
When the oil gets hot its sticks

P0771 talks about the solonoid sl1 so i think im gona drop the pan to test that solonoid 2B5FE849-38FE-4AF4-BF9D-B8DFA7044270.jpgAF466E51-8A67-4028-BDDD-E00D34425DA4.jpg CDAF4B66-A1FB-4701-BC58-50951C069B3C.jpg 0DCF384E-7F73-468C-B205-B0455415916A.jpg

    So im into this know

    Harness is new
    Female plug cleaned and working
Sr solonoid checked and good not sure if it could stick tho

The problem i have with this no shifting too 5 th gear and overdrive and when
Changing gear slection from park reverse
Drive it gives a shot to change selection
When it was cold was not doing it

did you test the sl1 solenoid? if not do so. If everything tests out good then its possible that it is stuck or you have debris blocking a valve body passage. Now when the transmission detects an issue it will set a dtc and then to protect itself it will not allow that operation again unless the dtc is cleared. So you can try to drive it down the highway until it is almost red lined then clear the transmission dtc while driving. That will cause an increase in line pressure then once cleaned the transmission will activate the solenoid and blast whatever is in there out.

Is their a easy way to test this sl1 solonoid or i got to remove the pan again too test it on the valvebody

You think it could be a ecm issues ....
I know for a fact my female harness is good and male well its new ...

I took a break with family today been working on it for 2 weekends starting to get frustrating

you can perform a resistance test from the connector at the ecm, to test the harnesses and the solenoid. you connect power and ground to it to activate the solenoid but u will need someone else to listen for a clicking by the pan.

Okay so i ground the body and how
Much volts do i send to it ..... and with ignition off ...

If this makes a sound what should i do next ...

The thing u said about going for a ride ... you want me to go over 2000 rpm which is were it should have shifted to overdrive and go in higher revs with check engine on and obd2 on and clear the codes so it engages the solonoids
    So that
It could release a maybe metal shaving inside valvebody or solonoid

Do you know why when the truck is cold and check engine is not warm up fully that its shifts doesnt that
Mean that it would not be block ... if it would be block it would not work at all ... thats what i find strange

I look at lots of wiring shematic and i dont really understand

Do you know if that female connector wires goes straight to the ecm or theirs relays and circuit or eny other electric componant that could be short on its way to the ecm
