Those bug protectors that everyone sells are a joke. I live in central Florida and the love bugs come twice a year. Years ago you could get actual bug screens but I can't seem to find anything for the taco that protects against love bugs.

Have you heard how people in Michigan protect their car in winter? They get a beater that they don't give two shits about and call it their winter car.

Down here we use a love buggy.

I live in central florida too. The only way around it is washing it every couple of days. Been doing it for as long as I can remember. I've lived here my whole life.

I bought about $40 worth of these, took the mesh out and ziptied them together into one big grill, and tapped into my fog light harness for power.

They turn to smoke on impact and I think the front end looks sick with all the lightning bolts.

Now the only buzz I hear is my badass grill frying bugs.

There has been plenty of times where the front of my truck was clean and nothing else was. Just part of the beginning and end of summer. There is no special treatment, you have to wash it. Other wise it will mess up your paint.

I use to spray Pam cooking oil on the front of my truck in love bug season when we lived in Louisiana. It seemed to make it a little easier to clean the bugs off.

Sometimes I clean the front of the truck early in the morning when there is a lot of dew and they come right off. The other day I used baby wipes and they came right off. I've only done it once because not sure of what it will do to the paint.

I’m in central Florida as well. I just wash our vehicles as needed during LB season. Some times every other day and sometimes once a week. Depends on how bad they are.

I have Xpel Ultimate for the front of the truck and put Ceramic Pro coating on the Xpel. Bug splatters wipe right off.

Get a cheap vehicle to drive and leave the truck in the driveway. Leave the Pam spray on in the sun for more than a couple of days and it will become almost impossible to wash off. Ask me how I know. I've tried the LeBras back in the day. Worked pretty good, but dated as a Member's Only jacket now. Washing it is the only defense I know of. Thanks God I office at home. During love bug season I plan my trips to occur at night. I'm going with clear bra and ceramic coating in a couple of weeks.

I'm having trouble deciding if this is a serious post or not. I want to believe it is, because it's completely ridiculous and badass all at the same time.

Yeah if you spray Pam on your genitals you won’t get herpes

If you have to ask what a love bug is you don't have a dog in this hunt.

When I lived in Florida,I sprayed Pam Cooking spray on the front of my car, and washed it about every 2-3 days, then reapplied the Pam. The acid in the bugs WILL eat through your paint very quickly. That's also why birds won't eat them...

Just gotta keep a coat of wax on the front and they wash off a lot easier.
