You need more than the two behind the stick?

It has sport shift, you can shift manually without a clutch.

Ahh I thought it had the same single cupholder and square cutout as the auto.
My sunglasses do need holding as well

I forgot the Tacoma w/ manual doesn't have JBL included in the premium package.

I also would't have push button start

Not having the JBL is a good thing, the door speaker upgrade along with Subaru tweeters sounds better than the factory JBL. I believe having the key was done on purpose to allow the proper use of the clutch cancel switch.

I did listen to the JBL and wasn't really overwhelmed to be honest, although I had recently experienced being in a new Ram Limited while its 19 speaker Harmon Kardon stereo was cranked up, man that was nice.

The key thing they could have just programmed it so that you hold down the push button to maintain the clutch start cancel functionality. It's just something I think I want in my next vehicle, but could live without it if I wanted to shift my own gears.

My 2019 manual has two cup holders plus the square. I toss my sunglasses in the overhead glasses holder.

We test drove a few 2019 DCSB/LB OR Taco's today and I actually had NO issues with the transmission shifts. Was it like our other vehicles....hell no but it was what I expected and more from the truck. The ECT button was a nice addition to change the shift points but we specifically tried several vehicles out today and TBH they all drove about the same. We did some 75-80 mph Cruising and although it was not what I expected, it was definitely NOT a deal breaker for us. I was a bit hesitant and expected some "horrid" experience through out the day today but to each his/her own.

So with that being said, if the driving annoys you then go with something else. We had zero issues on how it performed and are now looking to purchase here in the next month or so.

Also...where we live up at 7400' and test drove there from around 6000' or so.....tbh the Tacoma didnt miss a beat for us.

I live over a mile below that so my power should be a little better haha. It is good to see that others are having a positive experience with the 2019.

Most definitely! I don't know....but it seems like there are quite a few people that are unhappy with "newer" Tacomas on this site. Many of those issues are probably an issue for them but for us they simply were not even an issue.

We own a few vehicles and they are all "purpose driven" things. This is what our mid-sized truck will be.

Now, I am NOT opposed to the new Ranger at all. To be honest, I am glad that there is another competitor in the market. We haven't been able to test one but I have wanted a Tacoma for well over a decade.

My first OWNED car was an '89 Toyota Supra Turbo and LOVED IT.....in '96 or so back home from a deployment a buddy of mine got a 1st Gen Tacoma and being married for a few years that was our next vehicle. Simply loved it! However, we got stationed in Japan and had the fun time of owning a "Master Ace Surf or Surf Master Ace" depending on how it was badged....thing worked flawlessly although it was a Barney Rubble car as the floors were rusted out and you could see the ground below you....LOL.

While I think Ford will do well with the new Ranger, we will be getting a Taco. All of the people I know that own them and that I have had the pleasure to drive from 2nd Gens up to a couple 3rd gens (no 2019s) absolutely love them. And when asked, NOT ONE would trade them for another one.

Now one thing I did not care for was the "Crawl Control"......We tried it on a couple vehicles over the past month and to be honest, I don't think I would ever use it. I have been wheeling for years and while it is "kind of neat" it just wasn't my cup of tea. I am sure it is great but I will have to test it more when we get our OR in the future.

My wife has the JBL in her Sequoia. It has never been something that impressed me. Most of the time Auto manufacturers take their own parts bin and slap a JBL logo on it. That was the case for my Ford F250. The label was there but when you pulled the speaker is said FoMoCo on the speaker itself.

The push button start for me was a no-issue. I understand the key for the clutch cancel functionality. I am very happy to have a manual after a 15 year hiatus.

When I test drove my 2019 SR, the sales guy told me to turn on the radar cruise and switch lanes. I ended up riding this dudes ass but the truck slowed me down to a 1 car following distance. That right there sold me on the truck.

My love for Toyota was another reason lmfao.

My 2019 taco is my 5th taco, had two 4x4 SR5s before those. I am extremely happy with my new Tacoma.

I owned a 17 SR5 and it sucked couldn’t get out of its own way. Very underpowered. I traded for an 18 TRD sport and night and day difference. All kinds of power. I have Know idea what TSB has been done to it. Actually I dont want them to mess with it! I love it just the way it is. Both trucks where DCLB
