Good choice to go with the OR if you plan to OR with it.

By the way, dont expect to find a sport or Pro owner to trade hoods, you'll need to order it from the factory and/or buy an aftermarket one, taking a quick look at the below thread will give you an idea, just tell them at the dealership to add it.

Edit: also be sure to get the technology package with parking sonar, otherwise you'll end up with a chrome rear bumper

The OR does have the better suspension , but that only counts if you are staying stock and not upgrading the suspension which most avid offroaders do. Its all really what you want to make of your truck! I give you credit for doing some research! I on the other hand ordered an OR then on delivery day Sept 1st 2015 got the call from my dealer when it was being off loaded got there when they were driving the sport off the truck saw the scoop and instantly became a Sport owner!

I don't get the "looking over the scoop" or "scoop glare" comments.

I've never noticed any issues with the scooped hood of my Sport.

I agree with you and your choice. But there are also tons of people that are not avid off readers that use other means such as leveling kits. Either truck is good. But I still think that having a warrantied locker is better than adding one on later. Just my opinion, by the way I owned a 2nd gen OR (hit deer) and then a 2nd gen sport but when I got my 3rd gen I refused to get a sport again. Everybody is different and has different specs they want.

It's all about personnel choice! My point was not conveyed very well, I wanted an OR but that stupid Scoop swayed my judgement on the day my special order OR arrived! So i ended up with a Scoop that does nothing but look good! Spent thousands upgrading to make it what i wanted it to be! But i LOVE my truck and does everything i want it to, but i could have saved alot going with the OR and here is the biggest Ooops it was an MT! My only regret!

You could just grab a peel and stick hood scoop from the local auto parts store. Non-functional, just like the OEM. I wanted an ACLB 6MT, which is why I have a Sport. I swapped my hood for a good price because I hate fake stuff and didn't like looking over it. I don't off-road anyway, so not worried about the other stuff. I do, however, like the body colored accents and the 17" wheels.

The "peel and stick" ones dont look very nice. The stock scoop is contoured into the hood making it appear as a stock option, peel and stick will look like a bad fake add on.. kinda like the fake scoops you sometimes see on 90s f150s, YUK!

Also your judgement of course, clearly it made sense in your situation to trade away to your scooped hood, but imo that's just silly, If you were going to do that anyway, might as well have got the OR... no point imo for a nonscooped sport when the OR is the same price..

Us US 6MT AC guys get railroaded into a Sport because Toyota NA doesn't know their owners.

What's the scoop on the scoop? Quality, or novelty? Did you send it off or do it yourself? I'm trying my damnedest to only mod what I need to mod, but I think I just might need that mod.. :)

Secondly, but not necessarily in that order, I am in the market for the locker just as soon as I find a competent wrench within driving distance. Any issues or unexpected eccentricities with the ARB? ARB compressor?

    Tkx in advance.

I just will never understand why Toyota doesnt provide more features on the sport standard. Seems like it should get passenger side touch entry, or something else to really give it some 'advantage' over an OR.

(The answer, they dont need to I suppose)

SpartanX customs, you can find him on Instagram. Easy install with everything you need! Comes in amber also. ARB rear locker has been really good! Don't need to be in 4lo to use it!

Still easily spotted as fake. Withe the money I got for the hood, and the money and hassle saved getting body colored flares and bumper, I'm still satisfied. Yeah, the locker would have been nice, but then again, I might use it once every 2-3 years. No interest in crawl control since I have a 6MT.

I would have probably gone SR5 rather than OR if i could have gotten an ACLB 6MT. Sucks...

Tires. Sport has road tires I believe vs all terrain.

Maybe a pro or concerns depending on what you are planning tire wise.
