Same here. It wouldn’t take much to make my 16 feel more refined either. Few updates like CarPlay, improved engine/trans software and better quality interior trim to name a few.

If my work vehicle, a base model Chevrolet Malibu, has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, surely Toyota can step it up!

That's just Chevy for you. The installed Car Play so you'll feel like a million bucks and not be reminded that you're driving a Chevy. If they installed anything less one would drive it right into a bridge abutment and hope that life insurance from Taco Bell could pay off their baby mammas 2013 Champion doublewide

Agreeded, I like my entune so much better now that I use my phone for gps and don’t use the maps on the Entune, and just download shows from Relisten on an iPad and and play via USB cable.

The only way the Tacoma will get CarPlay is if they replace the head unit with an ENTUNE 3.x system. Even then, based on the reviews from Camry and Sienna owners, the system is not very good. But if you must have the OEM solution, I’m sure someone will figure out how to retrofit it. After all, the form factor is not going to change so it should be a simple swap.

Loving my recent HU upgrade to a Kenwood DMX905s - I'm using the wireless Android Auto size of things but it also supports Car play. With great after market options I highly recommend that route. For $500-1000 you can find some great options with the choices YOU want.

Yeah, I know domestic brands throw in bells and whistles to overcome their negative brand reputations. Maybe things are changing for Chevy, my last work vehicle was a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze and it was dependable.

It will be nice when they do add Apple CarPlay to all of the Toyota models. I'm not too fussed about my Tacoma not having it and I do have mostly Apple products. The current system works fine for me, as I only use it for music via Bluetooth. My phone sits on the vent for when I need to use Google Maps.

I'm probably a dinosaur, but I usually listen to talk radio when I'm in my truck, some music on weekends.

I couldn't care less about all of the gizmos.

I just realized after reading another thread that I’m complaining about not having Apple CarPlay, yet I cherish having a CD player in my Tacoma. I guess it’s customers like me who keep auto manufacturers guessing.

Mind throwing up a pic of that head unit in your C5 with the unit turned on? I'd love to see it. C5s are such an insane bargain right now. I've been eyeing low mileage 2004 Z06s for the low 20,000s. It really blew me away! A lot of car for the money! Interior is one of the things that gives me pause naturally. So it would be interesting to see how yours worked out.

The mirroring system doesn't let you interact with the phone via the screen though, correct? That's the one benefit to CarPlay.
Sure, lemme go pull the cover off it and snap a foto. I'll shoot you a PM to make it easier.

My wife's VW has car play and you're able to use Apple Maps for navigation. Probably one reason some car makers don't include it cause they'll lose out on some people who would pay for the navigation feature.

Apple CarPlay?... I would rather have a trunk release button on my dash, or somewhere in the vehicle.
