You want road mileage, go Michelin.

Goodyear Duratracs aren't A/T's...they're hybrids. Decent wear, mediocre ride, noisy when they get some wear. (BTDT, not interested in them again) Also, they can have issues with out-of-round, or poor balancing. (BTDT too)

I like Cooper tires, although, I'm running STT PRO (M/T's)

Couple buddies with Falken's. Tend to wear too fast for my liking.

I keep looking for a tire that is good looking, quiet on the freeway, and decent in rain and mud. None of the all terrain tires are perfect at everything. You have to pick what is most important to you.

I prefer smooth and quiet. Hence the LTX AT2 recommendation.

Really liking my Falken AT3W 265/75/R16 SL. Quiet, not much of a hit on MPG, and performing great in ice/snow.

Had the 16" wheels on my Tacoma and I put 17" tires on the 4Runner. Same tire, different sizes. Not a lot of difference honestly, both work great.

Regarding wear on my Wildpeaks I'll give you a quick story.

I wheel them and eventually punctured a sidewall. Not patchable. I bought from Discount Tire and didn't buy the certificates, but found out if you buy tires from them they give you a pro-rated warranty.

I had 14,000 miles on the tires when I had the sidewall puncture, they measured 14/32" still (damn near new). I got $127 back and the new tire cost me $160 installed and balanced. So I was out like $30 even without the certs and 14,000 miles on the tires.

For me, (these were Load Range E), they wore EXTREMELY well.

So....tire fails because of sidewall puncture. Vendor warranty partially replaces them. That means they wear well?

No...that means buy a more puncture resistant tire.

2 friends bought Wildpeaks Tread worn to less than legal tread in 33k and 35k miles. Not real hot for A/T's.

I’m a big believer in KO2s. Never had a flat and I use mine in desert conditions. C4FC5EBD-DA4A-4BD9-AB67-BF9B399C2B5A.jpg

Thinking about a set like that for my Tacoma, hopefully they are quiet on the highway.

There are just so many tires. It's a tough choice. My stocks are about to wear out and I can't figure out which tire to buy for the hell of me. I'm looking for a good all-season tire for the extreme northeast. I do not 4wheel, but my daily commute and frequent work trips take me on rough logging roads, dirt roads, ice, snow, and pavement. I need a reliable tire for year round conditions that doesn't hit my MPG. This thread is helpful, but damn...the tire decision is tough.

I think I've narrowed it down to:
    Falken Wilds
    or
    Goodyear Wrangler Ultra Terrain AT

    but...really...I still have no clue!

I’ve heard the falkens can be tough to balance. I went with BFGKO2 265/75R16

I have BFG A/T KO2s on my 2019 taco. Had 1 set of KOs amd then 2 sets of KO2s on my gen 2 taco. The firts KO amd KO2 sets got my 205K miles and had 6K and the second set of KO2s just before I traded it in.

Have run BFG A/Ts on all my trucks with the exception of my Defender 90 which I ran the BFG Mud Terrains on.

Numerous mods but doing my best to keep it legal here in Aus
Down here in Aus, I run the AT3W on my daily wheels and Wildpeak Muds for everything else. Last year the muds were awesome on a 13,000km trip through outback Aus.

I cannot fault the Falkens coming from a long history with BFG AT and MT treads.
