installed my faux grille today. I have to admit I was skeptical at first seeing how it only cost $69.99 on eBay. I honestly wasn't expecting much. but to my surprise I am happy. no, the letter don't come attached due to trademark infringement or something, but no biggy. they do come with the grille. I also bought the OEM Toyota garnish that you need as well. this is the part I really didn't like. it is glossy as hell while the rest of the grille is matte. it honestly looks stupid in my opinion. even the Pro truck comes that way, and its not my cup o tea. so, I took some matte clear bra we had laying around the shop and covered mine to tone it down some. much better. its still not "perfect" but it's much better. NO TSS warnings or lights on whatsoever. drove it home about 25 miles and nothing, so should be good to go. I have about $125 invested in this grille/garnish and see no reason to spend $250-400 for the Toyota stuff. you don't need a harness extension or none of that. for cheap Chinese plastic, it does just fine. I am sure even the Toyota grille is made in China or somewhere else. anyway, just my opinion.

I also removed the plastic chin spoiler from the front. much better now! IMG_4871.jpg

That's looks great! I'm impressed and I think you did well. I would go the route you went but didn't roll the dice and deal with any issues. I bought the OEM grill, longer harness and garnish for $280. I know it should not give me any problems. I like what you did and again I like it. Job well done.

What is a "matte clear bra"?

Maybe a clear protective film, like clear bra I guess. Not a bad idea, might do it to mine as well.

it is clear bra, but instead of being glossy it is matte finish. it is made for matte finish paint to protect it.

I feel everyone is rushing to assume they have to have the garnish. I put mine in without it, had clean sensor errors while the truck adapted to the sensor having a new obstruction in a different place, waited 100 miles and now it works perfect. Glad I didn’t spend the extra $50 as I also didn’t like the look of it.
