    This. Diesel HP pump part cost is super expensive, on par with engine or transmission swaps, so it's going to be a major repair anyway.

    Seriously, doesn't sound much worse than changing my 4 cylinder 1st gen. That was a royal PITA and ALWAYS a mess. I don't have a 3rd gen but the oil change for those aren't that great either. It doesn't get much easier than the 2nd gen v6, or a subaru (same general location as the 2nd gen)

    Easiest thing I've owned to change the oil in was my 2000 4.0 Wrangler. Everything was pretty easy to work on. Almost like who ever designed it actually worked on cars.
