Stock lighting has really been letting me down over the past couple of months with rainy dark nights. So i'm now looking for some more performance from a low beam lighting upgrade.

I was originally thinking the Morimoto HID kit (35w, 5500k bulbs) at $155 as i have run HID kits on previous cars, but now i'm wondering if there's an LED kit i should be eyeing up instead? I know running LEDs in projector housings is not recommended however it seems that a lot of people are running them anyways with success.

Any opinions or suggestions are appreciated.

    None yet.
for me personally, ive run HID's in several of my past vehicles... i would go with the 55w ballasts. i know a lot of people say you shouldn't and cant and get really butthurt about it. but i cant afford a $1500 set of projector headlights.

def go HID over LED. Some buddies with 3rd gens went LED for price but switched to HID. Since you can easily do it its a no brainer. Like @Fisherman983 said its more pricy for the 2nd gens. But @Fisherman983 keep a look out. I just scored a pair for $200 and saw a few others recently for $300-$600. Mine needed a little TLC but it was easy fixes and added some goodie to them.

I do wish I had 55w instead of 35w. 35w is ok but my setup is the H1 projectors which are smaller and they are bright but do not seem as bright as some factory HIDs I see on the road.

You can swap in a lexus setup into a 3rd gen easy.
