I wanted to see @HIYota go down that cliff. What trail was that? I don't know what you call it, the 2nd half of the video, the real tight spot where you guys slammed your sliders coming down.

@Tacomania Just picked up the Rav4 from M.T. Schiele, what an amazing difference and super knowledgeable/friendly guys. Thanks again for the recommendation .

I didn't realize those guys sponsored the stocker no locker event either

I think its transfer case, a little bit of scratches not too bad, you should try it if you go there, angel did that first big climb faster than both mike and I  but i dont have it on video, it was my fault

Yeah is that the waterfall on the creek trail? I think they call it Hogg Trail. I've done that. It's not easy without lockers. Have to pretty much bump it and hope you dont slide sideways while trying to climb up

nope, waterfall is bigger than that and steeper. I actually did not have lockers on running through that nor most of the runs we did:D:D, i used the lockers when i actually got stuck (cough cough) @mcharfauros . I think you can do that its easy, just have to know your approach angle and you are gucci

I've gone up it without locked rear too. Mike's always been a natural at picking good lines.

Looks like I'm gonna need a few things before attempting any of those trail bits in that video.

Thing is, my factory tires are practically brand new, so justifying good tires will be tough. Maybe I'll snag a set of sliders first.... Hmm....:spending:

Sliders is always a good first choice.

You can buy and pay to have sliders shipped to you or stop by the local fab shop, tell him what you want, and he’ll make them for you for less.

And for the record, when aired down your factory tires will impress you. Don’t sell a stock Tacoma short, they are very capable bone stock.

I've read and seen quite a few articles and such about factory capabilities. Was talking to a buddy of mine with a 2010 sport dclb, factory shocks at 180k still feel really good. Impressive.

Since we're in the STL thread... Anyone have any recommendations for a local Fab shop?

Don’t let the website fool you. Austin can make pretty much anything when it comes to metal or wood and he has allot of affection for 4wd truck projects. You can tell him that G.T. Sent you and he won’t even charge you extra. :taco:

He’s helped over a half dozen of us here at TacomaWorld and I don’t know of anyone who is dissatisfied with the quality of work he does. He stays busy so if you want to get on his calendar I’d suggest taking your drawings or downloaded pictures with you when you go to meet him. He gets allot of calls from people that don’t follow through so he tends to let genuinely interested parties show that they are serious.

And don’t be afraid of his fab quality. I’ve given him rudimentary and kinda vague descriptions of what I wanted and he turned around and handed me perfection.

Message me for the street address of my home hobby shop as we are getting together on the 20th for a mod/shop day. You can see some different slider options as well as see some of his custom work.

I'm thinking about buying a tech deck for a ram mount for my Taco. Does anyone have one installed?
