Will shell installation disable backup camera

    I am trading in a Ford Ranger (no backup camera) and getting a 2019 Tacoma. I would like to put an ARE MX shell on the truck. Will this disable the backup camera? Thanks for your help.

    No. Unless you get a canopy that replaces the tailgate, in which case the camera would need to be relocated to the canopy door. It looks like the walk-in door is an option on the MX series but not a standard feature.

    Agreed. Unless you get the walk-in door option the tailgate will not be removed.

    My old shell wasn't an ARE but a LEER and there were no issues for it covering the tailgate handle.

    I didn't have a backup camera but it would have been fine if I did.
