    Hey folks.....

My wife bought me a Bubba Rope for Christmas.

Should I get the soft shackles or metal D rings ?
If I get the soft shackles is one brand better than the other?

Thanks and have a safe new year!

They are all the same but I prefer the metal shackles even though the others are stronger.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
Same here...metal is not prone to environmental impacts like rope. I can beat up metal shackles whereas if I store soft shackles they can’t be near any sharp edges or have grit on them or be exposed to direct sunlight.

I use both, though my gear is becoming more and more soft shackle, which I prefer.

Why do you prefer the soft shackle? It seems weight and size would be the obvious advantages but are there other preferences you find that are not so obvious?

Safer too. Wont fly around as much if something comes undone under tension

That's the main benefit as I see it, is safety. A soft shackle flying at you will do a hell of a lot less damage than a metal shackle.

Good catch. Although as a climber, getting slapped with a flying piece of fabric (rope) is enough to cause serious pain/injury but probably not create a new orifice.
