I can remember it like yesterday. Thanksgiving weekend 2000. We all go to the hunting camp, and cousins pulls up in a brand new extend cab TRD Off-Road, Green. Already had BFG M/T 30/9.50. That thing was awesome. Took 17 years, and a lot of full size trucks later to realize I need one of these. I don't think I'll be able to go back to 250s after this, unless I need one to tow with.

To be honest...just about every country I have had the "fun of traveling to courtesy of the USAF" has Tacos EVERYWHERE! But my rationale for finally getting one is they seem to be indestructible in day to day use in many environments. I took a trip to Montana for fly fishing and spent the entire drive in the back seat and let me tell you it was pretty nice for being in back.

Coming from a long list of "off road" vehicles..the Taco seems to fit the bill for us now that we have outgrown our '93 YJ....don't get me wrong....Love the YJ but the Tacoma seems to be the right fit for us.

We looked for used one's and dammit if folks aren't proud of them. Really don't care about resale but OMG these things seem to have one of the highest resale values around! Just a plus!

There are a couple of things I would change in the Taco (seat height adjustment) but overall my wife and I still felt fine while driving it.

The final thing I love about the Taco is that there is a great community that is IMO only rivaled from the Jeep community.

    Small truck. CHECK!
    Fun to drive. CHECK!
    Pretty much indestructible. CHECK!
    Great community. CHECK!

Can't wait to get ours home!
