Thanks! And Thanks to all that tried to help our little country or what's left of it. We were stuck in a proxy war. I can't believe this kind of person would be honored. I hope she gets booed.

Definitely too young for any of this, but I think I remember her on 60mins or parents talking about her in the 90's. It frustrates me to hear that someone could be so evil, yet be unpunished.

    .

I used to dislike Fonda, Cronkite, Kerry & others for what they said .... but not any more.

After I got older and realized that the "RVN was not a just war in my eyes".

I asked myself this question ... "how many lives did they save by ending the war earlier than if they did not speak up".

If you want to hate someone ... "hate those who lied to you & sent you to kill other humans beings for the wrong reasons".

The cost in lives (KIAs & WIAs), suffering (on all sides) and treasury was tremendous and we are still paying for that war and what did we gain ?

Fact.... She visited Vietnam in 1972 and did state that the POW's were not being tortured when in fact they were.
Fact... She never received any notes and later turned them over, resulting in the deaths of POW's. This entire story is a lie.

This story has been debunked by multiple sources over the years.
    Check out Snopes.com

I do not agree with any of her visits or her political beliefs, but I do believe in stating fact and truth.... not bad rumors, innuendo and lies.

If you post a picture of Obama made up like The Joker or Bush in dunce cap, that's free speech. If you cause harm to American troops, that's treason. They can give Jane Fonda any award they want but I would not cross the street to urinate on her if she were on fire.

She made mistakes when she was young that was beyond stupid and wrong. I'm sure she has regretted it many times. I used to feel the same way about her as a lot of others do. It was easy to do it, easy to call her a treasonous bitch every time I saw her on TV. Now it's not.

I'm older and I see things a little different. Now when I see her, I see a 72 year old woman who has made mistakes and have done things that I don't agree with. She has to live with what she has done, not me. Life is too short for me to carry around hate in my heart for anyone.

If our own Government can encourage trade with a country that killed 54,000 Americans LINK and another one that killed thousands of Americans in Korea LINK, then I can let my hard feelings for Jane Fonda go. I for one, jumped off the hate Jane Fonda bandwagon years ago.

Even though I still have anger for the things she did, that was a well written and intelligent post.
