I just bought a Rockwood Pop up Camper (picture), which weights about 2600lbs dry. I will also be hauling some Hobie Mirage drive kayaks on a bed rack.
I have the factory tow package, but I was thinking maybe getting another cooler added after the factory cooler might not be a bad idea.

Also, if I go to a transmission shop, will they have any clue how to get the appropriate amount of fluid in if they add a cooler?

The trans and engine oil cooler included with the tow package were designed for a 6,500lb capacity. Shouldn't that be enough?

    Nice camper, BTW.

You should be good with the factory tow setup. Mine is almost twice that loaded with stock setup and no problems. Welcome to the camping club, nice setup.

I have the same type camper except I have the 2017 Flagstaff STSE model. I've towed it coast to coast on the factory tow package, no mods besides a suspension helper. You'll be fine.

It's an awesome camper by the way. Congrats

That’s actually a pretty light load. Just tow it with what you got and enjoy.

I'd guess that it depends on the terrain. Hilly, definitely, flat maybe not.
I haven't towed with my '17 yet but when I pulled my 18ft. enclosed car hauler with my '05 (auto trans), I generally kept it in 5th on the highway, going to 4 if it felt like the motor was lugging and downshifted to 3 when hitting hills.
