GT's Ultimate PepBoys chrome isle collection with considerable BS

Got some regular maintenance projects done yesterday when some mates turned up to help.

Replaced the CVs, front brakes, and a carrier bearing that had a yoke that refused to budge for awhile. Also discovered that I got lucky in Tennessee and just barely kissed the shaft on a rock.

I ended up talking about you over the weekend, I for the lift of me cannot remember his name, but he drives a silver first gen Taco with camper shell and has part of his hood done black. He is from the St. Louis area, but we were on a trail together and I knew I had seen him before and did some trails with him, ended up being ATR I am pretty sure. We started talking about how your wife likes to feed everyone that camps around you and everything and made me realize that I really need to get back to ATR next year for sure!

It’s official, I turned on the boiler in the workshop today so we can make use of the heated floor for mod day this Saturday.



Checked the thermostat in the shop and it read 50° so I set it to 58° and I’ll check it tomorrow.

Being the miser that I am i hate to toss out functional items and these old kitchen cabinets left over from the house tear out have made their way into the left of the workshop. Hope to hang the uppers Saturday and then get an idea of the countertop I need to get for the lowers. This will help me get some order on my mess as I sift through it and find parts that I bought for the truck years ago and then uhmm, misplaced. Case in point, @mcharfauros found the 1st or 2nd gen @ARCHIVE rear shackle hangers that I bought at least two, if not three years ago still in their unopened box under a pile of other stuff.



Yes, there are two unopened Amazon boxes on the top right. But I know what’s in them so I get partial credit, right?

 

Sketchy Dunlop’s are off the LandCruiser wheels and brand new Cooper S/T Maxx 255/85/16s are on. Really need to find a fifth OEM wheel so I can mount the last tire.

These dudes always do great work for me but sometimes they sketch me out as seen in the third picture.

 

Looked awesome with the 35’s tho.

 

Absolutely. But those Hutchinson’s were way too much for it and all the unsprung weight stole allot of the limited horsepower. Still gonna wheel it, just not down to 4psi anymore.

 

What are yo doing with the beadlocks?

Hey @G.T. - sweet ride! digging all the mods. i'm so far from that. but have a lot of stuff off my truck right now (engine, trans, drive shaft), so trying to take the opportunity to install some hard to get to stuff while I have the chance.
Notice you have the ARB 4x4 Accessories 170112 Differential Axle Breather kit.
Just curious is this a direct replacement for the tube assembly that's there? My lines look all rusty but I can't seem to find the part number for the OEM parts to replace.

The front diff and transmission tubes are still in place with the ARB tubing attached to it to be able to fit into the breather manifold.
