Woof, just made it through the entire thread and it's not even 0030! I'll be going to hardware store tomorrow and building a version that includes all of my favorite features from your builds! I will post finished product photos.

I decided to give it a go. I made a central console for support and storage, and to allow both sides to allow a passenger by removing a panel. I made the legs removable for easy storage, and padded the top. I have a hammock on order to contain the dog hair, so we’ll see how that works.

I recently updated my dog platform from the original design to something more permanent. Initially I wanted something easy to remove in case I had passengers OR needed to get into the cubbies for tire changing tools. Since I have had zero passengers back there in the 8ish years I have owned the truck, that reason no longer applied.

    Here is the old platform:

I found some great inspiration from this thread. I decided to build a platform with access to the storage bins. To do that, I would have to extend the height on the bins to platform level. Heres the first mock up I came up with. I wish I was better at woodworking and had a proper workshop.

That tab in the center bolts to the truck using the rear center console bracket bolts.

I went with 3/4" plywood this time and whatever scraps I had lying around my garage. I cut out the plywood using cardboard templates and lots of trips back to the truck to check fitment. Here is the final piece before carpeting.

I went to my local upholstry warhouse and found some carpet. I am not thrilled with how it frays when cut but it will work for now. I am happy with the end result and I know my pup is excited to try it out on our next trip!

I love this idea especially the storage places. This would be great for storing all my dogs gear when we go out. Nice job and thanks for the idea

@WSMFP Mine is similar to that one, so these dimensions might be close...

More pics of it in my media gallery.

Scott back when I could start remembering things as a kid. My dad had a dog that looked just like your dog. "Lonesone" was his name. (I don't know why) He was the best rabbit dog I have ever seen and I have been around allot of them in my 57 years. After you shot a rabbit he would bring it to you. I'll never forget Lonesome. He was truly a one in a lifetime kind of dog.

Cool story. She's a "poi" dog, which is a term we use here in Hawaii meaning a mixed breed. The vet thinks she has some pit, lab, and others. She is super smart, though i haven't taken her hunting she does stalk the occasional pigeon that flies into the yard.

Can anyone tell me what bolts size/threading pitch they used to fill the rear seat belt holes (in a 2015 AC)? I took the bolt to 2 hardware stores and both suggested it might be some proprietary threading.

    Thanks in advance!

I don’t know exactly but I can say it’s a Standard size not metric.

Some federal law years go that all seat belt bolts have to be a standard thread.

I learned like you with three visits to different places. Then I found it on MUD.

    Hope that helps.

That at least eliminates half of the possibilities  Thanks!

It fit nicely in the 7/16's hole on the sizing plate thingy, but they didn't have any nuts to test the threading... I'll check another store over the weekend.

    Thanks again

I didn’t save the info sorry but it’s an odd pitch but it is a standard size.

If I recall I couldn’t locate anything at Lowe’s or Ace, it may have been a local bolt and nut place or the Tractor Supply.

Thanks for posting these dimensions @RickG !
Could you estimate the measurements for the two cutouts you made to accommodate the rear seat panel bump outs?

Could you also add the link to your media gallery?

    Thanks
