Help with fog light mod

I have tried this method and seem to still have problems with it. i have all the parts necessary and bent the terminal from the relay and connected it to the female connector. i even stripped some of the wire within the quick splice to ensure that it was touching the copper. still no luck, can someone tell me what is wrong. the quick splice needs to cut through the wire sheath entirely right. the only thing i can think of is that the blade connection isnt tight but it seems quite snug. any help would be appreciated.
