Bump hat! The best thing since sliced bread..

As many of you know, I’m a heavy equipment/automotive technician. I was walking around in fastenal a few weeks ago and picked up this bump hat made by body guard safety. It’s equipped with padding and a plastic liner. I removed the padding so it wouldn’t stand off of my head so high and look more like a regular baseball hat. I basically modified it a bit to make it comfortable, so I actually wear it all the time at work. I’ve had it about a month, and I gotta say that I can’t believe that these hats aren’t available on tool trucks and basically anywhere tools are sold. It has stopped me from bumping my head about 5 times in one month. Working underneath vehicles on a lift there’s always that bolt hanging down, or the lift arm or anything and you turn around or stand up and smoke it with the top of your head. It happens all the time, but no more for me. It’s not osha approved as a hard hat, that’s why it’s called a bump hat. It looks like a normal baseball cap, but offers protection against sharp objects that would cut your scalp, or give you a big pop knot! I rate this hat at a 8 out of 10, just because I had to tweak it a bit to get it comfortable enough to wear it all the time. You never know when you’re going to bump your head, so I recommend anyone who bumps their head a lot at work to try one of these. There just over $20.00, just like most any other hat.
