Easy off didn't even touch the chrome. It's really clean now though.

What if I use self etching primer on the chrome then paint it?

For 290k miles. I was kind of nervous it wouldn't look this good in here.

 

Did you let it sit for a little bit? You could try self etching primer.

 

Let it sit over night... Didn't even phase it.

Ya, I have self etching primer. I'll use that. And the paint is Acrylic Expoxy so it should stick.

 

worst case you could hit it with some sand paper to scuff it up a bit, then clean, prime and paint

 

towed her at freeway speeds for the first time today. did pretty damn good tomorrow morning she makes the trek from Visalia to our new place in Merced!

 

I bought some red scotch brite. Still debating on if I'm going to do the grill this weekend now that the easy off didn't work.

Almost done with the valve covers, I'll see what I'm up to when I get them done.

Valve covers ✔️

 

- Installed ditch light brackets (still deciding what ditch lights I'm going to use)
- Threw the spacers back on
- Did an oil change
- Re-mounted the bumper lights so the covers can be taken off and put on without worrying about breaking them
- Fabbed an insert with nuts to make an attachment point for the front 3 bolts for the front skid plate to the Trail Gear bumper

And cleaned up the garage from today's work and doing the valve covers yesterday.

No pics you'll have to take my word for it... lol But not a bad weekend's worth of work
