Icon coil overs up front, Total Chaos UCA, Icon remote reservoir in the back with Deaver 11 pack leafs. Sunroof, Hella 500's behind grill.
I'd say if you're gonna do it, make a vacation out of it. Just to pick it up and race back might not be too fun, cost effective or worth it. Get it and go comping down there, see some sights and enjoy it. Take a couple weeks for it:)

I say go for it! sounds like an awesome trip! I've spent time in central America (Nicaragua, Panama, Costa Rica)... even did some hitch hiking and used public transit for all of my travel.. It's really not that bad... and I only had one kidney stolen .. obviously Rio De Janeiro is totally different but your going to be driving a Hilux so you should stick out too bad.. Just get a nice dark tint before leave town :D... I have also wondered about what it would take to bring it up to meet emission standards does anyone know? Shipping would be easy but driving it would make one hell of a story! just make sure theres no drugs hidden in the dash before you leave hahaha

not to be debbie downer but its not that easy importing cars into the country. my buddy imported a skyline and an fto and they both sat at the port for months. lots of paperwork and alot of money. if u want it just for the motor rip the motor, tranny, etc out in rio and ship that here to swap into a taco.

Don't bother. Shipping would be a hell of a lot cheaper and easier. First off, the Pan-American highway doesn't go all the way through Panama to Columbia. Now, you could feasibly ferry from Venezuela (Cumana would be your best bet. Too much $$$ to ferry from Caracas) to Panama City and drive up from there but the border crossings (border tax) and corrupt Policia will suck up a shit ton of money. Problem is that if you have the money on you when you cross from say Costa Rica to Nicaragua the Patrulla Fronteriza will follow you a few miles and then "Impose the tax". Now you've got no money and need to cross into Honduras. How'd you like to spend a few weeks in a Honduran jail for illegally crossing the border or just not being able to get out of Nicaragua? Sorry Gringo, no cash=no pass.

Look into it further if you want, but really, shipping would be the only way to go. And to all those who said to pack a bunch of guns? HAHAHA!!! Yea!!!! Have fun with that!!! Even if you could get them into Brazil, you'd be shot dead on sight trying to get into Venezuela.

But hey, just my $.02....do what you want.....

DO IT. Adventure comes only every once and a while. If you don't you would regret not having that trip. The time..is NOW!
