I posted a thread on this in the 3rd gen forum. Are there any four wheel camper owners out there? Here’s some sweet pics of 2nd gen Tacomas we’ve installed campers on...

Campers start at $11k. Pretty reasonable compared to a lot of high end stuff out there.

I hang out with the Juniper Overland guys regularly (they’re a 4wheel camper distributor). Those campers are top notch.

1050 lbs dry. Has everything: 3-way fridge, solar panels & controller, 12k BTU furnace, sink/8gal water tank & pump. Can leave the bed fully made and take the pop-up down to travel. No fucking around with “getting ready” for travel.
I’m the 2’nd owner at a cool asking price of $2500 from an old man who used it very lightly on fishing trips before he stepped up into a 5’th wheel.
I could literally buy another 2’nd gen Tacoma with the savings of NOT getting a 4wheel camper.
The thing goes everywhere. Brought it down the flint trail and into the maze last fall.

They’re out there. Of course, we can also sell you a $50k Fwc flatbed build if you wanted one of those too

There are lots of options out there.

The major benefit of the four wheel camper is the aluminum frame and its durability. That’s why you see 20 year old four whee campers still on the road today. Resale value is also amazing.

Nonetheless, glad you’re enjoying your palomino. It’s all about getting out there and just having a good time.

Here are a few pics of some FWC flatbed builds on 3rd gens we worked on this year. Cool option if youre looking to live full time out of the camper or just camping all the time. The flatbeds help create a lot more room inside the camper and have extra storage in the tool boxes under the tray.Money was of no concern here:

    Around 10-12mpg on most Tacomas.
