I'm pretty sure that even the Pioneer radio is based off an Android release.

I won't doubt you. But I seriously doubt I'll ever have an iPhone or any other Apple gear.

And I'm not a full integration type of guy. That's kind of like bundling your banking services, insurance companies or cable packages. You *may* get a better deal out of the gate, but it becomes harder to leave for another better deal. Sometimes bundles are good, others, not so much.

I have a SCII, a portable Garmin and a backup camera in the mirror. Cluttered? No, neatly arranged. Garmin comes in and out, use it in other vehicles, free lifetime updates. Hard to take on a plane and use in a rental car when it's built in the dash. :D

 Right. If the radio crashes, I want that to be my worst loss.

    :amen:

    :amen:

You've said so many times. How about brands, models & pricing to back it up? I might consider a modest one for my '04 Highlander now that the CD player has pooped out.

OP it looks like you and a couple of others have done a nice job with your setups. I can recall the days I'd add in an FM tuner to the AM radio in my 'new' car. You know, after I got tired of bothering with 8 tracks. :anonymous:

I'm not against anything anyone wants to do to jazz up their truck. And if I was on the road a lot more, I'd probably tweak up a few comfort items too.

But I'm in the <5k mi/yr. group. Often my longest trip is 100 miles in a day (in this vehicle). It's a 5 lug; I'm not touring the country with it. So simple, with a couple of portable add ons works great for me.

On the factory plug, which wire from the Maestro goes where?
There are no instructions for the Maestro on this as far as I read.
    Edit: for the backup camera.

The function of the pins on the maestro changes depending on the firmware installed in the maestro. That is why they sell a harness for the Toyota which is what comes with instructions for the different Applications in your vehicle.

You can get away without the T01, but I wouldn't go through the struggle.

I have everything setup except for the backup camera. I am uncertain which of the 4 wires for the backup camera go to which pin on the factory connector as the OP did. Everything on TW simply states to tap into the red and black wires. One post mentioned the other two wires but didn't say which one is which.

There's no instructions on how to do it for a 2011 on the instructions with the Maestro, it's a blank page.

I have the Pioneer Sph DA 120 and its awesome. Does Apple Carplay or Android Auto. Uses their navigation and works flawless. The Auto EQ that automatically adjusts all of my amplified speakers/subs with the auto eq microphone is the Cat’s ass. Ive have some serious stereo stuff and none sound this good and clean. Backup camera works great. Doesnt have wireless carplay but who cares i plug is in and go, no fiddle fucking around with my phone and its charged at my destination.

    $299 is the best part

Because it's a $700 stereo and so far other things have taken a higher priority: camper, lift, shocks, sliders, seat heaters, seat covers, winter tires... the list goes on. Stock stereo plays MP3s and Cds, and i have the aux input stock for listening to music off phone. This would be nice, but i want a stereo with carplay for $200 to $300.

I'm gonna pick up the 207 in the next couple of months. I don't feel like installing now in the cold anyway. Maybe Crutchfield will have some kind of sale while I'm waiting.

Did you check out that thread where the dude was pointing out the wires? I started there, then ended up doing this:

    IMG_0728.jpg

The two wires that are zip-tied are 5V power and ground. On the Maestro there's a little plug with 4 wires coming off, colors are blue/yellow, black, yellow, brown. Looks like this in the Maestro install instructions:

    Screen Shot 2019-01-13 at 6.49.46 PM.jpg

So I wired yellow and brown to the pins that they talk about in that thread, and then blue/yellow and black to the other two pins (I had to extend the wires to reach the harness and I just soldered on standard red/black). Rather than tapping into the existing wires that were there (like they did in the thread) I just unplugged the harness altogether and inserted my wires with crimped-on pins into the female ends. Then I electrical-taped the whole thing up so they wouldn't fall out. I have this set for the crimp-on pins but you might be able to find them at a local Fry's: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G0I0ZZK

Let me know if that helps!

Read through this a few times and didn’t find an answer....will the maestro, wiring harness and alpine keep not only the steering wheel audio and backup cam but also the satellite radio?
