    I want to mount the ram Mount I have but don't want to drill the dash and like op I don't want the vent impeded in any way with the Hondo thing.

    Anyone have any luck with some sort of adhesive? The 3m double sided molding tape I tried didn't hold

    I just caved and ordered the Hondo vent mount. Can’t find anything else less invasive that looks as sturdy. Ordered a mount(the part of it that actually holds the device) specific for the iPad I’m gonna use on Amazon for cheap. 757661B6-E008-493D-BA27-A829305FD1EA.jpg 228D8D7E-3D12-45BD-81B6-9A055283396B.jpg Couldn’t stomach the $159 tablet option from hondo.

    I just drilled a hole in the infotainment bezel. The hole really is out of the way and if I have remove the Ram ball, I have small flat black push in trim buttons that would make it look factory. I'd likely drill a 2nd hole spaced equally so they look like it was intended.

    I did cut a piece of sheet metal and epoxied it under the hole. It was fairly stout w/o it, but now it's very stout. Zero worries about the benzel cracking from any stress. I also painted the shank of the ball black vs. the raw aluminum they come in.

    I like the location of the phone for viewing and it doesn't block either my vent or view of the infotainment screen. I can also turn the vent towards my phone to cool it on hot Florida travel days.

    Would you be comfortable with a lock nut and lock washer without a piece of sheet metal? I’m considering doing the drill into the bezel method like you did if my DSM doesn’t come in before my trip in a few weeks, but I don’t have any spare sheet metal.
