I’ve always thought this demonstration of CC was one of the most impressive. Albeit on a LC wagon running street tires.

Agreed, the Land Cruiser video is an excellent illustration of how the Crawl Control works!

Ehhh pros can cons... both are good.

Best part of the MT =4.33 gears

Best part of the auto = begin able to off road easily

i would not say 'good' about the 3g AT'S, but that's just me.

MT's are 4.30 for the record.

For me, buying a manual living in LA was not an option unfortunately...didn't want to get a knee / hip replacement at 38.

Why? I lived in LA for about a decade (during driving age) and never had an issue with MT on the 405.

What decade did you live there? Maybe there was less traffic? But I like driving stick in traffic too, so maybe we're just weird. Haha

driving in the 90s, then annual visits over holidays and whatnot. I mean, open up the following distance a little, edge the lane to keep folks from coming in, and it's not like anyone who regularly drives stick needs to do any conscious effort to shift anyway. But keeping it in first at the minimum is fine. Or just leave it with the clutch in. Wears the springs a little. NBD.

But I also lived in NYC for a few years, still driving a stick, so...

MT in this truck is awesome. I love rowing the gears, flooring it, all into it like Im in a racecar, and barely hitting the speed limit lol. I do feel like the crawl control is the one thing that made me consider an AT but I thought that Ill need crawl control maybe twice a year and where the manual will be used and enjoyed daily. Ofcorse, offroading in an auto is must better then manual but again, the manual won out that arguement for me. And just like OP said, it is a very different truck, I see so many threads about people being dissapointed with the auto hunting for gears, really makes me appreciate that I can chose the gears I want to be in. From what I read the OVTune really wakes up the auto though. On a side note, maybe you can start a thread in the Marketplace and see if anyone wants to swap a MT Taco for your AT Taco? Kind of like the hood swap thread thats going on? Idk maybe someone out there wants to get rid of the MT? Worth a shot :)

I am among the group that hated the truck with a 6AT, switched to a 6MT and absolutely love it!
