My first car was towed into my driveway, and my Dad bought me a toolkit to fix it. My dad sucked. :pout:

I did the same thing to my son, also.

Is that even legal? I had to be 19 before i even was allowed to get a credit card with a 500$ limit let alone a 40k pickup lol. My insurance was also insane when i was a teen, like 300/month on a pontiac with a clean record

X2 on this. Ive never had a car payment, and never want one if I can avoid it. Bought my first gen 6 years ago, It still makes me happy and I can afford to put money into it without having to borrow. Only thing I’m ok with being tied down to is my mortgage.

Exactly man, my first truck was a single cab 4x2 ranger. Me and my girlfriend bought a camper and travelled all over with it. We also did vacations, I bought atvs / motorcycles (all cash). Best years of my life (so far). I'd never finance a car because a used one does the same thing for a fraction of the cost.

As 37 year old, I think you're being really stupid right now, and your parents need to sit down and have a talk with you.

    1) you're 18 years old with 37,000 dollar car.

    2) you want to turbo charge a brand new 37,000 dollar car.

    3) youre 18 years old with 550 monthly payment.

I am less concerned with your driving ability, and more concerned about your financial outlook.

I was 18 once, and in the last 19 years, I saw a lot of people buy cars, vacations, homes, college degrees, trinkets, tools, lawn mowers, bikes and all kinds other shit that they couldn't afford. To this day all those people are drowning in debt. They have to work forever. They can't file bankruptcy because student loan lenders are protected by the federal government.

I know people who 65 years old and still paid their houses because endless equity loan financing that was used to buy cars, vacations and toys. Most of those people have thousands in credit card debt on top of that.

A turbo kit is going to be 5000-8000 dollars and that won't include install. It will also eventually destroy your engine, and that alone will cost 15000 to repair.

For real man... Life is not short, don't live miserably because you want a toy. If you go to the hospital when you are 55, they aren't going to just let your die. They will do whatever it takes to save your life and then charge you 100K for service. When that day comes, you will realize that spending money on toys ain't worth it

    LOL!

Poseur. You can tell it's not the real thing. There's a dead give-away.... it doesn't come with the optional 8-track.

As a side note, is there even a way out of a financing term? Are your only options either repo, or find someone to take over the payments and take a loss?
