Anyone have any ideas why I would start getting an unsupported device on my iPhone when using the USB port below the climate controls of my ‘18 TRD OR? Had the truck for 7 months and have used the dash USB port for iPhone charging and in the last couple days I’ve started getting the unsupported device message on my phone, thus no charging using this port. I’ve checked multiple USB cables and confirmed they work on other USB charging ports (not in truck) so it’s not the cables. I can use same cables in a 12v cigarette lighter USB port without issue but I’d really like to use the in dash port like I always have.

Running iOS 12.1.2 on an IPhone 7.

Have you tried a different cable in that USB port? Doesn’t sound like it. It’s typically the cable that’s the issue not the ports

Sounds like your getting a voltage drop, and the culprit is usually a non apple cable.

Yes when I said I tried multiple cables I wasn’t clear. I tested multiple cables (6 in total) in several different other USB charging ports (computer ports, 12v USB ports, wall chargers) and all those cables, which include Apple brand cables, work in all USB ports I’ve tested ... except for this 1 factory USB port on my dash. So it’s not a cable issue.

Try shutting down then restarting your phone

Phone reboot worked. Should have thought of that earlier. Thanks!

I have an USB powered fan at the office, and it is hooked to a hub I plug my iPhone into. When I turn it on I get the Unsupported Device message!
