    Hey Guys,

I wanted to see if y’all could share your experiences with the 2” old man emu lift kit, (886 heavy load coils and 90021 shocks) I love the ride height of it but I’m getting drive line vibrations as I come to a stop 17-22mph even with the carrier bearing shims that came with the kit.

I’ve read about some spacers that appear to go under the leaf springs, have y’all had to use these, if so what pitch did you use?

3 degrees is the magic shim.

Did you keep the CB shims with the 3 degree shims, do you have a picture that shows where they go exactly? I’m guessing the leaf springs will have to be removed again.

It all depends on your angles. I wish I could just tell you what you need, but unfortunately the drive shaft angles are different on every truck so you'll either have to measure, or play around with it.
I'd start with 3 degree shims. That seems to be the standard across the board. I've heard of only a handful of guys that didn't need shims after lifting the rear.
As far as the cb drop, that's hit or miss. Lots of guys don't that cb spacer, but some guys do. Again, you'll have to check angles. Some guys don't use the block spacer, instead just get a bunch of washers and start adding them until they get the desired angle. Of course a new, longer bolt(s) will be needed especially if you're going to go with more washers than the cb blocknyou have on there now is thick.

Thank you for all of the replies, I’ll try to see about taking some measurements this evening with an inclinometer to see how far I’m off, I don’t think it’s too much since the vibration isn’t really too bad but definitely noticeable

I would suggest taking the drive shaft off to be able to accurately measure trans output shaft angle as well as the rear diff pinion angle.
Takes pics and post um if you need help!

Haven’t had a chance to take measurements yet however I got to thinking on my drive back this evening that it could have to do with the alignment which hasn’t been done yet since the installer wanted everything to settle / wear in a bit first, would this cause vibrations when coming to a stop?

Alignment issues I think you'll most likely feel all the time. Not 100% sure though. You'd most likely have pulling to one side and/or have to constantly be correcting your path

Yeah as far as the alignment goes I haven’t been having to correct the path much, only on uneven roads, it’ll actually stay straight on it’s own, I’m reading on another forum that a 2012 Tacoma owner has already tried the CB drop from ARB with their old man emu suspension kit as well as axle shims and both at the same time with little to no improvement, even has good angles on the driveline.

    Link to the thread?

There's like a half degree of tolerance, if even, when it comes to drive shaft angle

Also, for what it's worth, I have vibrations that I can feel in my seat and under my feet but they go away if I change the angle of my chair and front to back position. In other words, you may just have to learn to live with some vibrations because you can't always eliminate all of them! Haha I could be completely wrong though

Haha, I suppose it’s going to be more or less of an inherent thing with these trucks, I think I can improve it a bit though at least

Would driveline vibrations cause damage to equipment such as the transmission or differential down the road?

Here is the link I mentioned in my earlier post: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ion-10-20mph-after-lift.571932/#post-18876876

Slightly different setup but pretty much the same thing.
